This Caran D’Ache 1010 Limited Edition takes its name from “Ten minutes past ten” and has rightfully been designed as a tribute to the exceptional Swiss watch making industry. It’s made of rhodium-coated silver with a clip in similarity to a watch hand also has a balance wheel placed between two rubies under a sapphire dome with tiny tick marks embossed around the barrel.
The marvelous 1010 even has a piston pump with a ruby and sapphire crystal dome at the tip and is available at a cool price range starting from $19,000.


2. Four Seasons Limited Edition Fountain Pen Sets by Ferrari da Varese $36,000


The Four Seasons Limited Edition Fountain Pen Sets were launched to celebrate the shades and changing colors of the passing time. Green stands for the spring, red for the summer, brown for the autumn and gray for intimate winter. The pen features 18-carat gold nib, classy engravings, and a state-of-the-art pump filling system. Only 33 units were made, with each priced at $36,000.

This fountain pen is made from 18 carat white gold and diamonds from Visconti reserved for a cultivated, and let’s face it, rich clientele. The precious stones have been patiently embedded in the pen shaft and the simple design shows off the exclusive materials used.







4. Caran d`Ache 1010 Fountain Pen $174,000




The Caran d’Ache 1010 Fountain Pen was made with 18-carat gold and studded with a diamond and a ruby. The pen touts details that can be found on fine mechanical watches. Even the ink bottle looks like a watch crown. The barrel was made transparent with the use of sapphire crystal. Only 10 units were produced, with each costing $174,000.

These limited edition writing marvels have been designed to pay homage to one of the most amazing creatures in nature, the Butterfly. The limited edition Boheme Papillon is priced at 180,000 Euros (US $230,410).



6. Prince Rainier III Limited Edition 81 Pen $256,000


The Prince Rainier III Limited Edition 81is limited to only 81 pieces (Rainier was 81 when he died in 2005). Half of the sales of the been will go to the Foundation Princess Grace. The pen is a skeletonized fountain-pen of 18K white gold decorated with diamonds and ruby-studded lozenges to mimic the red-white lozenges on the shield of the Grimaldi coat of arms. It includes 996 diamonds cut with facets and 92 rubies which form a network that inner workings of the writing instrument can be seen through. 19 more rubies surround the clip ring on the cap and the 18K gold nib is set with two rubies.


7. La Modernista Diamonds Pen $265,000


This pen was made by Caran d’Ache, a Switzerland based company in 1999 as homage to architect Antonio Gaudi. This amazing fountain pen was sold at an auction for $265,000. The pen had an 18-carat rhodium-coated gold nib and was set with a total of 5,072 Wesselton diamonds weighing in at 20-carats, as well as 96 rubies totaling 32-carats. La Modernista Diamonds has been featured in the Guinness Book of Records 2001 for being the most expensive pen at that time.


8. Caran d`Ache Gotica Pen $406,453


The Gotica Pen from Caran d`Ache recently made its debut in China. The pen which celebrates Gothic art and architecture is made of rhodium-coated solid silver with six faces decorated with Gothic windows, fleurs-de-lis and rosettes. The Gotica Jewel pen is set with 892 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 7.10 carats and the rosettes have 72 emeralds (3.96 carats) and 72 rubies (9.90 carats) while 210 yellow sapphires (28.35 carats) embellish the fleurs-de-lis. The pen is selling for 3.28 million yuan ($406,453) in China and there are already interested purchasers.








9. Mystery Masterpies $730,000



Montblanc and Van Cleef & Arpel`s (both Richemont companies) have created a unique pen together named the Mystery Masterpiece to celebrate both of their centennial anniversaries. There will be three versions of the Mystery Masterpiece made, ruby, sapphire and emerald with only three examples of each being made. The Mystery Masterpiece features the legendary “Mystery Setting” which completely conceals the gemstone settings and was patented in 1933 by Van Cleef & Arpels. The nib is made of gold which rhodium plated and engraved to commemorate the centennial. Each pen is encrusted with nearly 840 diamonds and twenty carats of gemstones.

10. Montblanc Boheme Royal Pen $1,500,000

This is the most luxury pen in the world. The Montblanc Boheme Royal fountain pen features retractable platinum-plated 18k gold nib,18K white gold barrel and cap set studded with 1,430 brilliant-cut diamonds. The Montblanc star logo is made of 19 diamonds highlighted with 18K white gold rings and clip is set with a paramount-cut diamond. The diamond-studded writing instrument exceeds the million dollar mark with its luxury price tag of US$ 1,500,000
